Our passion is to change the narrative and bring happiness to all through adventure travel. Too often we have found the image people have in their minds is that enjoying a surf or going rock climbing is exclusive for the super cool and young. Hell with that! We have the proof that the magic happens when we try something new, enjoy a hit of nature and share a slice of adventure with your colleagues, friends or family. Life is short, let’s go live it!
Our story
The Big Blue Adventures spark came in a moment of panic, ‘I’m 30 and haven’t done the things I said I would during my 20s.’ I needed a new adventure, both in my personal life and career within events management – too many conference rooms for my liking. In 2015 I came across a sea-kayaking charity challenge in the Isles of Scilly, the timing was perfect. The trip was so enriching, it gave me the sense of exploration I had craved. It was in those moments of happiness out at sea that I thought – I want to share the feeling of adventure with the world, and so, Big Blue Adventures was born.
The early days started very cautiously in 2016, around my full-time events management job in Cardiff. My amazing partner Heleen gave advice and support, and soon became the co-owner. After a reassuring test run in Wales, we jumped ship and quit our full-time jobs to focus on the business. We quickly identified the need for expansion and Portugal ticked so many boxes it became our home-from-home, and a perfect second destination for Big Blue. After years of crafting unique tailor-made packages (adding Croatia to the options!), we now specialise in company offsites and multi-night group adventures, with more exciting destinations on the horizon. – Daniel

The reason why our adventure packages are so great is because we’ve tried it all before. Our passion is the driving force behind what we offer. We’re a team of watersports lovers and explorers with a sense of adventure. Anything that gets us outside and in nature, we’re all for it. But we’re also very at home at the office environment and are expert travel & events planners.
There’s nothing we love more than seeing groups of people having an awesome time on our hosted trips. We’ll be with you from the start, from the first point of contact, throughout the planning phase and being your local tour guide at the destination!

We aim to be as sustainable as possible when it comes to delivering group trips, by collaborating with local independent suppliers and donating to rewilding projects by Mossy Earth. Make your team trip more eco-friendly by co-funding one of Mossy Earth’s projects, and we will match your donation! Together, lets ensure nature survives so adventure can thrive.
