You clicked on this blog because you need a little help planning outdoor activities in South Wales. Perhaps you’re looking for a South Wales team building experience for your business?

Big Blue Adventures has an incredible range of team building activities in Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons, and indeed we have activities throughout Wales. The choice is immense so to help you out a little we are sharing some of our favourite outdoor activities right here!

Canyoning / Gorge Walking in South Wales

Waterfall Country of South Wales

Gorge walking is perhaps one of the most varied and fun activities you could possibly do! In the beautiful Waterfall Country of South Wales you can embrace nature, climbing rocky terrain, sliding along with the rapids, exploring rock pools and even climbing behind the magnificent waterfalls themselves. This is an adventurous day out that will have your team building natural bonds as they help each other navigate the sometimes tricky, always exciting, terrain!

White Water Rafting in Cardiff Bay

White water rafting seems like one of those exotic activities you have to travel abroad to enjoy, but it turns out you can do it right in Cardiff Bay! When you’re in a boat with a group of people, facing some rapids, you have to work together. This is a thrilling sport that anyone can enjoy and it’s an experience you’ll certainly always remember.

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Near Cardiff

Stand Up Paddleboarding is a sport that’s been steadily growing in popularity and it’s for good reason. Though you may find you wobble a little at the start, this is a sport anyone can pick up and once you get your boarding legs you’ll find this is one of the most meditative sports out there. As you learn to move with the current we can take you on a journey across the water and perhaps get you involved in some games and races!

Canoeing in South Wales

As you can probably tell, we love our watersports at Big Blue Adventures. And whilst white water rafting is very exciting and SUP will have you working your core as you keep your balance, we also offer a more relaxing water adventure. Canoeing is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the canals. Float on the water, absorb the stunning nature around you, and bond with your co-workers all at the same time.

Hiking in The Gower Peninsula & Brecon Beacons

It’s not all about the water with us, and it would be a crime to come all the way to Wales and not enjoy a hike. As well as exploring Waterfall Country, you can hike Pen y Fan – the highest peak in Southern UK – or we can take you on some remarkable coastal hikes on the Gower Peninsula or the Vale of Glamorgan. If you would rather not venture into the Welsh countryside, we can take you on a hike through Cardiff City itself, perhaps following the Taff Trail up to Castell Coch. No matter what kind of walk you fancy, Wales (and Big Blue Adventures!) can offer the perfect route.

Rock Climbing and Abseiling in Cardiff & South Wales

Abseiling down Giant’s Cave in the Gower Peninsula, an easy day trip from Cardiff

If you want to take your hiking up a notch, there are some perfect rock climbing locations to explore near Cardiff. Rock climbing is a fantastic activity to get people working together, encouraging open communication and trust, and our climbing activities are suitable for all confidence levels. Enjoy the great outdoors, scaling rugged rocky hills and abseiling down steep cliffs. By the end of the day you’ll be amazed by what you’ve achieved!

Check out a recent video of a climbing day we had on the Gower coastline:
