Stag Do enjoying a beer in the sun in Wales

Planning a great stag do can be a challenge. When you’re organising an event for several different people, all with different tastes and preferences, it can be daunting knowing where to begin. But don’t worry! Big Blue is here to make planning the perfect stag do as simple as possible. We organise Stag Weekends in Cardiff & the Brecon Beacons that cater to everyone, but we specialise in outdoor activities. And, after lockdown maybe getting outside is what everyone needs! Here are five of the activities we offer that could be the ingredients you need for the perfect stag do.

Canyoning
Canyoning, or gorge-walking, is a brilliantly fun and exciting way to enjoy the outdoors, and it’s one of our most popular stag activities. We’ll take you out into the wilds of Wales (but not too far into the wild!) where you’ll negotiate your way through a gorge, sliding with the river rapids, plunging into rock pools and climbing up rock faces and behind waterfalls. This is an activity for everyone but it will be a challenge and it will push your boundaries — so be prepared!

Coasteering
If you don’t mind travelling a little further afield, we promise our coasteering adventure on the Gower Peninsula is absolutely worth the drive! Here you’ll get to enjoy spectacular scenery while you jump into the big blue sea, swim with the swells, and scramble along the coast, discovering caves and cliffs as you go. It’s an adrenaline hit and a half, and you can challenge your nerves as much or as little as you like.

White Water Rafting
Far from being an exotic sport enjoyed in distant lands, you can now enjoy rafting in rapids, right in Cardiff Bay! This Olympic course boasts some big drops and you and your fellow stags will have to work as a team to stay in your raft. It’s a thrilling experience and it’s so close to the city centre that you don’t even need to travel far to enjoy it. You can get your hearts pumping and then take it down a notch and explore Cardiff right afterwards.

Quad-Biking
Forget hiking. Quad-biking is an awesome way to explore the countryside! We’ll take you out between Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons where you can enjoy nature from the top of a 250cc Honda quad bike. Combining scenic views and fast fun, this is a great activity for everyone. And if your biking session leaves you wanting more, it’s easy to combine it with a canyoning adventure — or you can test yourselves on an assault course.

Rock-Climbing
Rock-climbing is one of the most satisfying and fun activities there is. A combination of problem solving and physical challenge, a cliff is a puzzle waiting to be figured out. And in Wales we have plenty of rock-climbing locations to choose from. This is a great way to explore the outdoors but if the weather turns bad, we also have indoor climbing walls which can be a great plan B.
