Howard leaning up against an old anchor in the harbour of Gustavia. Gustavia is the capital of St Barts which is in turn the playground of the rich and famous.
The Marina and harbour are very tidy and well maintained. I guess if you're trying to attract the rich and wealthy then everywhere will be clean and tidy
Everyone ties their boat off to a buoy at the stern and then motors into the dock and ties of at the front too. This way the harbour manages to get more boats in. As an anchorage Gustavia is very rolly so not really a place to stay for too long we thought.
Fort Oscar, one of the two forts overlooking the waters around Gustavia
The Sushi bar we had lunch at. Never having had sushi before we we a bit nervous but the tuna we had was just gorgeous.
The paved roads in the town. A lot of the cars, although not shown here, were little Smartcars which are just ideal for the small streets
One of the massive sailing yachts in St Barts for the St Barts Bucket. The owners are so rich the prize is a bucket with a pineapple in it as they dont need the money. Each of the boats has to be over 100ft. The largest was London registered and was an impressive 46meters long.
