St Martin/Sint Maarten

The town of Marigot on the French side of the island.

Howard and Jason share a Heineken. Unbelievably Jason was the first local on the island we met and where should he come from in the UK but Howard's home town of Kirkham.

Suzanne and Shrimpy with Mike the restaurant owner. Shrimpy's bar was the local hangout for the cruisers and Mike ran a great Sunday flea market with free beer and free hotdogs.

Jason and the fish he swore would end our days of not catching anything on our travels. Well he was righ and wrong. We hooked something with this lure but whatever it was simply bit the lure in two and made of with the tail section and the hook

We visited the market in Marigot and did the tourist thing of looking and not buying.

Big floating gin palace leaving Simpson Bay at the 9.30am opening. The bridge was widened by one of the owners of these massive boats so he could get his boat in and out easily. What's a few million US$ between friends.

View of the beach and bay on the Dutch side at Philipsburg. There is a long esplenade along the whole front of the bay with numerous duty free shops, restaurants and cafe/bars.
