The local burger bar on the island in the distance "Mac duffs" has a WiFi wireless internet connection. Amazingly form where we are at anchor about 1/2 mile away we get pick up the connection and use the laptop to access the internet.

On the other side of the island is a crumbling resort and dock. Normans Cay is famous for its drug running connection. In the 1980's a drug boss brought large pieces of land here, built an airstrip complete with radar and armed guards, frightened away any locals who owned land here and took over the island as their own. The Bahamian government, known for their corruption looked the other way while they used this as a staging post to refuel and smuggle drugs into the USA. The island has a creek accessible at high tide by boats where a crashed airplane from this time can be snorkeled. Unwelcome visitors were not tolerated, a yacht registered to a Florida couple in was found adrift near the island with a blood splattered cockpit. A body was later found on a beach. The dealers were eventually taken down by the Americans who used a bird watching hide on a neighbouring island to watch the runners until they moved in
