Lilypie Baby Ticker

Well after confirming Suzanne was pregnant in Nassau, Bahamas it became apparent that the island we had visited a few weeks earlier had lived up to its name. Conception Island maybe more than just a name in this case.

Some six weeks later we arrived in Provo, Turks and Caicos and booked in for our first official appointment. After the notes were completed it was time for our first look at baby Clarke.

Whilst doing the scan the Dr blurted out that "these marks you can see here are indicative of a little girl". It was a surprise to be told but exciting all the same.

Six weeks later and we were in Miami having an amnio centisis, the doctor doing the scan asked if we wanted to know the sex, so we said it's ok we already know. Then he proceeded to talk about HIS arms and HIS legs. At this point we questioned him and discovered that she was a he. So we were excited all over again.

It was another 2 weeks of waiting before we got the good news that everything was OK and we could finally tell people the secret that we had been bursting to tell for weeks and weeks.

    • After arriving in Dominican Republic we take a two day trip to look at hospitals, it became clear that we did not want to have the baby in DR.
    • From the Clinic in Miami we are given contacts in Puerto Rico, a visit to the Dr's in PR on our way back to the UK went well, the doctors and facilities look great and this looks like a good place to stay and have the baby.

    • Two weeks on and Mummy getting fed up of bumping into things and not seeing her feet. Baby squirming about as no room to really move now. Only 10 days to go to the 22nd. Hopefully it will be a natural birth and then we're all home on the boat for Christmas Day. If C-Section then we're all in hospital for the day - save on cooking anything though I suppose ;>)
